Freeman's TCK-TAB (The Cook Kids-Teen Advisory Board) May meeting proved to be both fun and productive!!
We discussed what kinds of cool programs we'd like to see happening in September and October, once school is back in swing, when the fun of summer has died away and the harsh reality of waking up early again to sit through that first class of the morning has come upon us.
September and October also have several celebrations, such as Hispanic Heritage Month, Banned Books Week, and Teen Read Week! This year's Teen Read Week theme is "Books with Bite" and we had a great time thinking of vampire- and eating-themed activities - from Fear Factor to a spot the rubber snake in the library competition!
Would you like to join TCK-TAB? Would you like your brilliant ideas be put into action? Do you need any volunteer hours? Do you like food? E-mail me @ mlayton@hcpl.net or leave me a comment for more information!
